STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS (SSP)

Strategic System Programs (SSP) oversee the weapons systems programs to execute Sea Based Strategic Deterrence (SBSD) operations in support of the Navy’s full spectrurm deterrence mission. SSP maintains an internship program for post-secondary students and is excited to be a part of the Department of the Navy (DON) Historically Black Colleges and Universities/Minority Institutions (HBCU/MI) initiative. Selected student interns will participate in 10-week program coordinated by the SSP HBCU/MI Cohort and championed by the SSP Chief Engineer. Students will work directly with SSP’s mission support and technical professionals. Student interns will be assigned in the following areas of focus below depending upon their major and career goals:

  1. Systems Integration and Testing
  2. Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering
  3. Analytical Data Systems Research and Analysis
  4. Information Technology and Cyber-Security
  5. Human Resources
  6. Construction and Infrastructure
  7. Fire and Flight Control Systems
  8. Facilities Management
  9. Business Management
  10. Contracting
  11. Security
