The DoN HBCU/MI – Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Internship Program provides an opportunity for students to participate in a paid internship related to naval Data Science and Logistics Engineering at a Department of Navy facility for 8-10 weeks during the summer.
The NAVSUP HBCU/MI Program’s objectives are to:
- Encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
- Offer students the opportunity to gain real experience in support of degree programs such as Computer Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Mathematics.
- Provide interns an opportunity to gain an edge in the job market, establish networking opportunities, and gain professional confidence.
- Raise student awareness of the Navy’s competencies in supply chain management and optimization, as well as available civilian opportunities within NAVSUP.
The NAVSUP HBCU/MI Program provides competitive internships which allow students to gain high relevancy working experience in support of their degree program.
Eligibility Requirements:
All student participants must be U.S. Citizens and must have a favorably completed background investigation prior to start of internship. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and be enrolled in a full time academic course load in an accredited four-year academic institution deemed as a Minority Serving Institution (MSI)* by the U.S. Department of Education. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Locations:
One of three naval facilities based on intern’s degree program: NSA Mechanicsburg, PA; NSA Philadelphia, PA; or Norfolk Naval Ship Yard, Portsmouth VA.
